Interactive installation

"Digital Shadows" :
The installation is made of 2 screens ( 1 for the silhouettes, 1 main screen for video-projection), 1 spotlight, 1 webcam, 1 video-projector and 1 computer :
The participants move between the spotlight and the screen so that their shadow is projected on the screen. The webcam captures the silhouette.
This silhouette is processed in real time by the computer and incorporated in the image projected on the main screen.
At any time, the main image can be saved and printed on paper.

What is it all about? The interactive piece works as a "viewer trap" so that this one is taken into the creative process. In doing so, he discovers something about himself and his relationship to others. In this layout, he finds himself in an unusual situation : The white screen, over enlightened, may remind him (among others) of a theater stage or Plato's cave. In this place, guided by an assistant, he will consider his body language, invent new gestures and reflect about his relationship to his own image. In this "lab", he finds new ways of interacting with people (those who watch, those who take part and the artist)The artist offers a frame and graphic composition, the participant offers patterns, and the random and unique encounter of these elements creates a new work.

"What I am looking for through this installation is to share an experience of creation. A unique moment made of intent, attention and expectation along the process that leads from the choice of props and the right pose to the printing of the image. Everything is intended to let the participant enter the game and share the emotion of creation with the assistants and myself"
